Done With Mythic Heroes? Here's Where the Good Hero Collectors Actually Live

Mythic Heroes has the right bones for a certain kind of player. If you've hit its ceiling, these three games are worth your time.

Mythic Heroes does one thing well: it makes building a mythological hero roster feel satisfying at the start. The art is sharp, the early progression moves quickly, and the faction system gives you enough decisions to stay engaged through the first few weeks.

Then you hit the hero acquisition wall. SSR rates are low, the pity system is expensive, and meaningful roster progression stalls unless you're spending or grinding events daily. For a lot of players, that's where the game ends.

If the idle RPG part appealed to you but the gacha ceiling did not, there are better options.

Idle Heroes is the template Mythic Heroes is modeled on, and it's still the deeper game. Eight years of content means the roster is vast, the faction synergies are genuinely complex, and the community has developed real tier lists and theorycrafting. F2P is hard but viable — the base acquisition rates are more transparent than Mythic Heroes' and the endgame is substantial.

Summoner's Greed takes the hero collection idea and routes it through tower defense. You're summoning monsters to defend a base rather than fielding a team in RPG combat, but the collection and upgrade loop is the same itch in a different wrapper. Much lighter monetization pressure than Mythic Heroes and no PvP ranking system dragging you into spending cycles.

Epic Seven is the ceiling of what this genre can be. The story is actually good, the animation is exceptional, and the turn-based combat has real skill expression — positioning and speed tuning matter in ways Mythic Heroes' auto-combat doesn't. It's more demanding than either of the other two, but if you want depth instead of just progression, nothing else in the hero collector space comes close.

All three are free. Idle Heroes if you want the same DNA as Mythic Heroes but with more room to grow. Summoner's Greed if you want the collection without the gacha pressure. Epic Seven if you want the best the genre has built.
