Summoners Greed sits in an interesting spot. It's a tower defense game that plays like an idle RPG. You're not building mazes or placing units manually. You're upgrading a roster of monsters, watching them defend your portal, and tuning the lineup between waves. The idle hook is strong and the monster collection keeps you coming back.
When you've finished what Summoners Greed offers, the next pick depends on which part of it you want more of.
AFK Journey is the call for players who got into Summoners Greed for the hero collection. The roster goes deeper, team synergies are more complex, and the open-world format sets it apart from other idle RPGs in the space. It asks more in terms of daily engagement, but the payoff in build variety and content depth is real.
For the auto-battle core — build your team, tune the composition, watch it handle things — Capybara Go, Shiba Story Go, and Almost a Hero each deliver that in slightly different shapes. Capybara Go runs a roguelite-idle loop where each dungeon run builds on permanent upgrades, with gear optimization as the main depth layer. Shiba Story Go centers the depth on ability combinations and expertise class choices per run, with a faster session pace. Almost a Hero adds a prestige system on top of the auto-battle idle loop, so long-term optimization never fully runs out — there's always a better artifact composition to work toward.
If what you liked about Summoners Greed was the wave-survival structure and you want more active control over it, Archero 2 converts that energy into a roguelite dungeon format where you pick your path, choose upgrades between rooms, and your moment-to-moment performance actually matters.
